A voice that mixes political satire with quirky dialogue, writing to provoke, intrigue and amuse. 

Madeleine is a Meanjin/Brisbane theatre maker and playwright. Her mainstage works have been produced and published by Playlab Theatre; Big Yikes! (Brisbane Powerhouse, 2024), Rising (Metro Arts, 2021). Her co-written works have been independently produced; Deep Breath In (Brisbane Powerhouse, 2023), Maddie is the New Karen (Wynnum Fringe Festival, 2021), This Fantastic Plastic Planet (Backbone Youth Arts, 2019) and Sometimes it’s Hot like the Sun (La Boite, 2018).

She was Playlab Theatre’s Playwright-in-Residence (2023), Dead Puppet Society Academy Program participant (2022), Assistant Director on Counterpilot’s Breaking (2022), Incubator Program participant (2021), Playlab Theatre’s Young Playwright-in-Residence (2019), and Backbone Youth Arts resident artist (2019). 

She completed a Bachelor of Arts (Drama & Political Science), and a Masters of Writing, Editing and Publishing. She is currently a PhD Candidate in Creative Writing at the University of Queensland.
